Middle school football moves into semifinals

Houston County middle schools have finished the first round of football playoffs.

In seventh grade action, Warner Robins Middle defeated Mossy Creek 28-12, while Huntington fought off Bonaire’s late game comeback, 6-0. The Northside Jets dominated Perry Middle 30-14, while Thomson beat Feagin Mill 22-16.

In eighth grade games, Perry Middle squeaked by Warner Robins Middle 10-8, and Huntington defeated Bonaire 24-16. Thomson outscored Mossy Creek 50-22, and Northside Middle shut out Feagin Mill 49-0.

The winning teams will advance to the semifinals, to be played Thursday.

Huntington will face Northside in both the seventh and eighth grade games.

The seventh grade game will start at 3:30 p.m. and the eighth grade game will follow at 5 p.m. at Northside Middle’s field.

Warner Robins’ seventh grade team will take on Thomson’s at 4 p.m. at Bonaire Middle. Eighth grade teams Perry Middle and Thomson will play at 3:30 p.m. at Perry High School.

The winners will go on to the middle school county championship, scheduled for next week. Depending on the outcome of the semifinals, the county championship games will be played at either McConnell-Talbert Stadium or Perry High School.
