Perdue holding School Council meeting

Council meeting at Lindsey Elementary

Lindsey Elementary School will hold its first School Council meeting for the 2009-10 school year Sept. 8. Bonaire Elementary council meeting

Perry High School Council election

Perry High School will hold a School Council election for the 2009-10 school year. The election will be held Thursday at 7 a.m. in the auditorium. One parent representative will be elected for a two-year term. Two parent/business representatives will also be elected, one to serve for two years and one for a one-year term. Perry High hosting cheerleading clinic

Perry High Cheerleader’s Cheer Clinic Fall 2009 will be Saturday, Aug. 29. The schedule is 8:15 a.m. to register and pictures, 9 a.m. clinic will begin and 11:30 a.m. parent performance. Openings in three Pre-K programs

Three schools in Warner Robins have openings for their Pre-K programs. The positions will be filled out-of-zone on a first-come, first-served basis for those not already enrolled in a Bright from the Start Pre-K program. Pearl Stephens Elementary School has four openings, while Shirley Hills Elementary and Lindsey Elementary each have one spot available. Those wanting to enroll their child in the school need to have the following: proof of residency: birth certificate and Social Security card or waiver. Middle Georgia Tech offers tax course

The Continuing Education Department at Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins is teaming up with H & R Block to offer an income tax course. This course is designed to help individuals learn how to prepare taxes and begin earning extra money as a tax preparer with H & R Block. The 69-hour course consists of 23 class sessions. Classes will meet from 1-4 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday from Sept. 8 to Nov. 24. The cost for the course is $85 and includes textbooks and all materials required for the course. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be given an opportunity to interview for positions in the Warner Robins and Perry area. The instructor for the course is an H & R Block Certified Tax Professional. Class size is limited and is on a first-come-first-served basis. Applicants must register by Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the MGTC Admissions Office located at 80 Cohen Walker Drive in Warner Robins. For more information about the course, call E. K.
