Valdosta State announces local graduates and dean's list members

Valdosta State University has announced students from Houston and Peach counties who graduated or have made the dean’s list for the spring semester.

Area graduates are:

Christopher Stephen Rydzewski of Bonaire, bachelor of science in education -- communication disorders; Anthony Rashad Swygert of Bonaire, bachelor of arts -- political science; Emily Jane Chapman of Kathleen, bachelor of science in nursing; Matthew Ryan Vrahiotes of Kathleen, bachelor of fine arts -- speech communication; and Heather Nicole Barnes of Byron, master’s of education -- special education.

The following area students have been named to the spring 2009 dean’s list. To make the dean’s list, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 with at least nine hours of course work. Grade point averages are based on a 4.0 scale.

Andrew Michael Coats, Amanda Lee Cooper, Brittney Elaine Hampton, Renita Monique James, Stephen Christopher Johnston, Courtney Nicole Overcash and Christopher Stephen Rydzewski, all of Bonaire; Phillip Edward Jones of Centerville; Ashley Ann Cawthon and Cara Nicole Heesh, both of Elko; Stephanie Ann Brearley, Emily Jane Chapman, Amanda Christine Coggins, Owen James Culpepper, Karena Ann Hall and John Wilfred Richards III, all of Kathleen; Brittany Janay Marshall and Kelli Danielle Smith, both of Byron.
