Mite BOYS
The Cardinals defeated the Rangers 10-9 in the final game to win the Mite Championship in baseball.
Leading hitters for the Rangers included Christian Weaver, Gaven Johnson, Justin Moate, Dillion Andersen-Mace and Devin O’Neal.
For the Cardinals, the leading hitters were Jerimiah Sweet, Chevy Hubbs, Jaden Hunter, Darien Green and Caden Daly.
Other members of the Cardinals’ championship team are Braxton Robinson, Josiah Taylor, Kod’Darius Melton, Timothy Hollingshed, Dontravious Morris, Wesley Melender and Myles Melton. Fred Jenkins is the head coach, with assistant coaches Kelli Murray and Glenn Daly.
Midget Boys
The Riverdogs took an early 2-0 lead in the Midget baseball final game before ending the game against the Cubs with a final score of 7-3. Leading hitters for the Riverdogs were Cornelius Lawhorn, Tyler Yandell, Ryan Wood and Jonathan Porter. The leading hitter for the Cubs was Lane Brock.
Other members of the RiverDogs championship team are Drew Schuler, Dantel Crouch, Roger Sandoval, Nolan O’Donnell, Scott Austell, Daniel Ensley, Matt Davis, and Brett Kelly.
Head coach for the Riverdogs is Todd Schuler, and Brian Owens is the assistant coach.
Mite Girls
The Rockies fought it out with the Peaches before taking the lead in the bottom of the 4th inning for a 11-10 win in the Mite softball championship game.
Leading hitters for the Peaches were Tamia Grayer, Kennedei Cooper and Courtney Walker.
Leading hitters for the Rockies were Jayda Andrews, Brianna Dollar and T’Yaunna Sanders.
Other members of the championship Rockies team are Genesis Richardson, Lea King, Kayla Williams, Brittany Foust, Tionna Burner, Angel Dickson, Regan Ringley, Allie Cohen and Kendra Wilson. The Rockies were coached by Tony Rhoton, and assistant coaches are Mike Cohen and Kelly Foust.
Midget Girls
The Storm took a 4-1 lead in the first inning of the Midget softball championship game. The Mets battled back, scoring five runs in the fourth inning ,but the Storm held onto a 7-6 lead.
Leading hitters for the Storm were Sydney Menges, Anna Wright and Mary Jayne Caum. Leading hitters for the Mets were Jessica Colson, April Wooten, Emily Millette and Mary Ostrow.
Other members of the championship winning Storm team are Briara Dwight, Jordan Middleton, Ashley Calhoun, Jami McCarty, Erika Cottrell and Haleigh Vinson, Kierstin King, Kristina Eubanks and Kayla Andrews.
The Storm is coached by Jeff Knutson, and assistant coaches are Erik Evert and Ted Cottrell.
Junior/Senior Girls
The Riptide took a 1-0 lead in the first and added two more runs in the third, going into the last inning of play with a 3-0 lead. But the Force battled back in the bottom of the fifth, putting four runs on the board to win the Junior/Senior softball championship in dramatic style.
Riptide leading hitters were Kinya Green and Jaci McCarty. Leading hitters for the Force were Kilandra Dollar, Chasitee Swift, and Brenna Byrd. Dollar and Byrd both had home runs.
Other members of the championship winning Force team are D’Amber O’Neal, Tyler Gray, Lindsey Moore, Kishara Thomas, Andrea Dores, Rayna Tomberlin, Helen Kurtz, Melissa Kutay, Kelli Jackson and Emily Bressler.
The Force is coached by Vet Miller, and the assistant coach is Cedric Dollar.
