AMEN CORNER

Ash Wednesday

Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, will host Ash Wednesday holy communion and Imposition of the Ashes, at 7 p.m. tonight at the church located on U.S. 41 between Russell Parkway and Ga. 96. Father Paul Gerlock will officiate. Call 953-3844.

Guest speakers in Fort Valley

Pastor Delmar Stilwell from West Virginia will speak at 7 p.m. each night through Friday at Evangelistic House of Prayer, located on Walton Road in Fort Valley. Upcoming events at St. Peter AME

St. Peter AME Church of Fort Valley will celebrate its annual lay weekend Feb. 28-March 1. Josiah Phelps will be honored Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. in the Pettigrew Community Life Center at Fort Valley State University.

The Rev. Dr. W. Jerome McClain, pastor of Warren Chapel Circuit AME Church of Sparta, will deliver the sermon. A banquet will be held at 3 p.m. March 1. Cost is $25. Call 923-7295. The public is invited.

Upcoming activities at Sacred Heart

The next baptism class at Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 21 in PAC Room 209. No classes will be held in March due to Lent.

Marriage Prep weekend will be May 1-2 for married and engaged couples planning to marry. Cost is $75. To register, call Lisa deall at 923-0124.

The 2nd Annual Father-Daughter Dance will be 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 14 at Sacred Heart. Tickets are $30 for a father/daughter couple, and $5 more for other participants. Men’s conference
