WARNER ROBINS — A convenience store owner is accused of selling alcohol at his Kathleen store without a license, a Houston County sheriff’s investigator says.

Jitu Prahlad Patel, 36, of Warner Robins, was arrested Tuesday at his EZ Trip Store at 1054 S. Ga. 247, said Capt. Robert Clark.

Patel was charged with sale of alcohol without a license, a misdemeanor, and faces up to a $1,000 fine if convicted, Clark said.

Patel was freed on a $600 bond, the investigator said.

Patel was previously charged Nov. 7, 2008, with selling alcohol to a minor at the Pure Oil gas station at Collins Avenue and Houston Lake Road where he was a clerk, Clark said.

Patel was in the process of getting an alcohol license for the EZ Trip Store that he recently purchased, Clark said.
