Church expanding
to Warner Robins
Bishop Camile Holmes, pastor and founder of New Vision Bible Church of Conyers, plans to bring a branch of the church to Warner Robins. The church’s first service will be at 3 p.m. on Jan. 18 in the Ted Wright Memorial Park building on Moody Road. Everyone is welcome.
Holmes graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1988. His pastoring experience includes eight years at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Covington and two years at Greater Philadelphia Independent Methodist Church in Talbotton.
Holmes, who began the Conyers church in April of 2008, said he always had a dream to pastor back in his hometown. Friends and family had asked when he would start a church in the International City, he said.
The nondenominational church will incorporate various outreach ministries for men, women and youth, including praise and worship, music, nursing home and prison ministries.
“We want to have a ministry where there’s something for everyone,” Holmes said.
Holmes and his wife, Melvia, have five children. He received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice in 1994 from Valdosta State University and is pursuing a master’s of divinity from Andersonville Theological Seminary.
