Volunteers needed for haunted house
Law Enforcement United of Houston County, made up of civilian and military law enforcement agencies, is once again hosting its annual haunted house in October.
Each year, the fundraising organization raises money to help police officers seriously injured on duty or who suffer some catastrophic event, such as losing a home from a fire. Funds are also available to help the family of an officer who dies in the line of duty.
Last year, the haunted housing raised more than $10,000. The organization is looking for volunteers to help build the haunted house and to work during times the public is invited. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate.
This year's haunted house will be held Oct. 24-31. Donations of building supplies or money are welcome. To learn more, call Capt. John Clay at (478) 808-2117.
