Atlanta Falcons radio color analyst David Archer is tonight’s speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club.

The club meets at The Methodist Home for Children and Youth at 304 Pierce Avenue. The program begins at 6:30 p.m.

Northeast is the featured high school. ESPN.com college football and basketball writer Mark Schlabach is next week’s speaker, and he will have copies of his new book, “Georgia Football: Yesterday & Today,” for sale. There is no meeting Nov. 23, and Georgia State’s Bill Curry is the Nov. 30 speaker.

Archer, a native of Fayetteville, N.C., was a quarterback in the NFL from 1984-92 with Atlanta, Washington, San Diego and Philadelphia before playing in the World League of American Football for one season, earning MVP honors in World Bowl II. He competed in the Canadian Football League from 1993-98, except for a year off in 1997.

In addition to doing Falcons’ radio, the 1983 Iowa State graduate also calls college games in the Southeast for Fox and Raycom Sports.
