Chris Hatcher of Georgia Southern is tonight’s speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club.
The club meets at The Methodist Home for Children and Youth at 304 Pierce Avenue. The program begins at 6:30 p.m.
Telegraph sports editor Daniel Shirley will also attend and will have copies of his book on Hatcher, “Hatch Attack.” The cost of the book is $22.
Rutland is featured high school. Former Georgia quarterback and current UGA radio analyst Eric Zeier is next week’s speaker.
Hatcher graduated in 1991 from Mount de Sales where he was a standout in football, basketball and baseball. He was 29-10-1 as starting quarterback at Valdosta State, winning the Harlon Hill Trophy in 1994 as Division II’s top player.
After being an assistant at Central Florida and Kentucky, he took over at Valdosta State and went 76-12 before being hired at Georgia Southern in 2007 where he is 17-13.
