Authorities have released the identity of a man who was killed in a Columbus Road house fire Saturday.
The man was 25-year-old Anthony Bernard King Jr., said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Initially, authorities sought out dental records to confirm that King was the man who died in the fire, but the records were unavailable, Jones said.
King had been out of contact with his family for several days, he said.
Another man injured in the fire, 31-year-old Christopher Johnson of Felton Avenue, has been released from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta after being treated for smoke inhalation.
His brother, 28-year-old Michael Johnson of Columbus Road, was listed in good condition at the burn center this morning. He sustained second- and third-degree burns on his back and both arms. He also suffered smoke inhalation.
Macon-Bibb County fire investigator Ben Gleaton said the fire appears to be accidental, but no official cause has been released.
Firefighters received the emergency call about the fire about 5:20 a.m. When they arrived, they found the house engulfed in flames, and the Johnson brothers were outside.
Both men told firefighters no one else was inside the house, according to a Macon police report.
The house was not hooked up to gas or electricity at the time of the fire, Gleaton said.
