U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall, who had planned to hold a town hall meeting tomorrow in Macon, has rescheduled that meeting for Thursday so he can be in Washington, D.C. for votes on health care reform, his office said.

Marshall, D-Ga., had initially planned to fly to Macon, hold the meeting, then fly to D.C. for an evening vote on proposed health care reforms that have dominated debate in Washington for months. But now he will remain in Washington because of an expected morning procedural vote that will outline the terms of debate for the health care bill, according to his chief of staff, Doug Moore.

Marshall will then vote against the health care bill later in the day, Moore said.

The town hall meeting, on health care and a range of other issues, is now scheduled for Thursday at the Macon City Hall, 700 Poplar St. It’s scheduled to run from 6-8 p.m.
