Health departments across Middle Georgia received about 5,000 doses of swine flu vaccine Monday.
The latest shipment to the 13-county North Central Health District will help ease access to the vaccine.
The vaccines that arrived Monday are injectable, said Jennifer Jones, a spokeswoman for the district. For those who go to their local health department to get the swine flu shots, there is no cost.
For those who want to get the vaccine, it’s best to call the health department first, Jones said. Supplies will vary by county.
