A man was fatally injured late Halloween night when he was hit by an SUV while walking on Moody Road in Warner Robins, according to a police news release.
The incident happened a few minutes before midnight Saturday near the intersection of Moody Road and Lamar Drive. The collision resulted in the death of Michael Ray Estay of Warner Robins.
According to the Warner Robins Police Department release, Estay was walking south in the middle of the southbound lanes of the roadway on a rainy night. Dorothy Howard, 46, of Kathleen was driving south on Moody Road in her 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. A vehicle in front of Howard swerved, narrowly missing Estay. Howard also tried to avoid Estay, to no avail.
Estay suffered “severe impact trauma to his upper body,” according to the news release. He was taken to the Houston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m. Sunday.
