Milan woman killed in crash in Laurens County

A Milan woman was killed in a head-on crash Tuesday on Ga. 31 in Laurens County, the GSP reports.

The victim was identified as Kristy Lea Richardson, 34, said GSP Trooper 1st Class Jonathan Foskey.

Richardson was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier south on Ga. 31, also known as U.S. 441, when she crossed over the center line at the intersection of Purvis Road in Laurens County and struck head-on a 1998 Freightliner tractor-trailer northbound on Ga. 31, Foskey said.

Jimmy Patterson, 56 of Clover, S.C., the driver of the tractor-trailer, had only minor complaints, Foskey said.

The crash occurred at 7:51 p.m.
