Macon woman critical after domestic shooting

A woman was in critical condition late Friday after being shot in the head during a domestic dispute, Macon police said.

The incident happened at 8:38 p.m. at 2711 May Place in the Unionville neighborhood,

The victim was Cynthia Rhodes, 35, according to Macon police Sgt. Zac Self. A handgun went off during a dispute between Rhodes and her husband, 43-year-old Bernard Rhodes, Self said. Bernard Rhodes then called authorities about the shooting. Cynthia Rhodes was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Macon detectives were still investigating the shooting late Friday.
