WARNER ROBINS — Houston County Commissioner Gail Robinson was tapped recently by Gov. Sonny Perdue to serve on the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority.

Robinson, 39, of Kathleen, is a Warner Robins attorney specializing in bankruptcy issues. She also handles some domestic issues.

“I was glad to get the opportunity to serve and I was pleased that I was thought of ... to serve in this capacity and I’m just looking forward to getting to meet with the people and see what I can contribute.”

Robinson is a member of the Houston County Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bar Association. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a law degree from the University of Georgia. She and her husband, Mark, have two children.

Established in 1993 by the Georgia General Assembly, the GSCCCA administers a statewide central index for Uniform Commercial Code filings, according to the authority’s web site. The UCC is a group of laws designed to standardize Georgia laws related to commercial transactions. The authority also administers a statewide index for real estate and personal property records, maintains the central database of public notaries and administers a statewide database on civil case filings.

A 10-member board of directors governs the GSCCCA. The board includes six Superior Court clerks, one Superior Court judge, one county commissioner and two at-large gubernatorial appointments. The authority, based in Atlanta, is managed by a full-time staff.
