A woman walking on Randall Road near McEvoy Drive found several rolls of coins, cash and a safe concealed in a wooded area near the road at about 9:40 a.m. Sunday, according to the Macon police.

Officers later found two more safes, several additional rolls of coins and cash, according to a police report.

Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said one of the safes has been identified as being taken from a weekend burglary at a Walthall Oil in Monroe County.

The Country Station store, 5969 Highway 41 South in Bolingbroke, was burglarized at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a Macon Regional CrimeStoppers news release.

Walthall Oil Company is offering an additional $1,000 reward in conjunction with rewards offered by CrimeStoppers for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons involved in the burglary, according to the release.

The burglary is being investigated by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to call 742-2330 or (877) 68-CRIME.

Hofmann said the owners of the other two safes have not been identified.
