The U.S. Marshals Service arrested 406 people across Middle Georgia in June during the annual Operation FALCON.

Thirty four officers from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies joined together to focus on capturing people wanted on felony charges, including sexual predators and fugitives wanted for crimes of violence, according to a news release.

Eight accused killers and 23 alleged sex offenders were apprehended as a part of the operation, and 593 warrants were served, according to the release.

Among the arrests was Gregory Dewayne Miller, the 37-year-old Macon man accused of fatally beating 38-year-old Melissa Rushing and burning her body on Aug. 7, 2008.

Information from The Telegraph’s archives was included in this report.
