Official: Houston County man dies after friend accidentally shoots him

WARNER ROBINS — A 77-year-old man is dead after he was apparently accidentally shot today by a friend at his Houston County home near Warner Robins.

Luke Jackson Jr. was shot once in the thigh about lunch time today in the yard of his home at 1101 Feagin Mill Road and was taken to Houston Medical Center, Houston County sheriff’s Capt. Robert Clark said.

Jackson later died from his injuries, Clark said.

Garell White, 47, of Elko, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct, Clark said.

White was being held without bond at the Houston County jail in Perry.
