Strong storms down trees across Middle Georgia, lightning ignites hay bales

Strong thunderstorms moved through Middle Georgia downing numerous trees and igniting hundreds of hay bales Monday evening in Laurens County.

Preliminary storm reports from the National Weather Service states several hundred hay bales caught fire at about 7 p.m. near Buckeye Farm about four miles north of Dublin.

Houston 911 reports numerous trees and power lines down around Perry from the severe weather.

The storm report from across the state indicates one-inch hail fell in Crawford County and trees were downed in Baldwin, Dodge, Pulaski, Telfair and Greene counties.
