A 35-year-old Byron woman was killed Monday night after she lost control of her Lincoln Town Car on Ga. 49 in Byron.

Jessica Burwell was traveling west of Interstate 75 when swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle and veered into the path of an eastbound International Harvester box-style truck driven by James Walker, 57, of Macon, said Georgia State Patrol communications officer Chuck Altman.

Burwell died on the scene and Walker suffered what appeared to be minor injuries in the accident which happened at about 7 p.m., Altman said.
