A former police officer faces a charge of sexual exploitation of children in Greene County.

Jason Thurmond Wiggins, 32, was arrested Monday in Eastman by GBI agents and investigators from the Greene County Sheriff's Office, said Tom Davis, agent in charge of the Milledgeville GBI office. Wiggins, who lives in Eastman, was being held Tuesday in the Greene County jail.

Wiggins' girlfriend, Frances Jeannette Jackson, 29, of Greensboro, also faces charges, Davis said.

"She had sent him pornographic images, child pornography, via cell phone," Davis said. "Apparently he saved them on his cell phone."

Jackson was arrested and booked at the jail Tuesday afternoon, a sheriff's office spokesman said.

Wiggins, a former Eastman officer, was arrested and suspended with pay in 1998 after a former girlfriend accused him of stalking her and ramming her car with his truck. She later dropped the charges. He is the son of Eastman Police Chief Furman Wiggins.
