Nick Malloy attends benefit concert

As his father Frank Malloy watches, Macon singer/songwriter Nick Malloy strums a guitar for the second time since the car crash in northern Bibb County that seriously injured him earlier in the year. The two were in the green room of the Cox Capitol Theatre for a benefit concert in Nick's honor Friday. Frank Malloy says Nick's treatment at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta is going well. Nick is learning all the skills he needs to leave in patient treatment and is expected to begin out patient treatment in June. Nick says he is writing songs even while confined to "those four walls" of the Shepherd Center. Despite muscle pain in a left hand still recovering from the crash, Nick enjoyed picking up a guitar. "It feels good," he said,"It feels like home."
