closeYKK AP America was chosen by readers of a trade magazine as the winner of its first Green Design Award.
Readers “overwhelmingly” voted YKK as the “greenest manufacturer” among 15 nominees featured in the September issue of USGlass, the official publication of the Glass Association of North America, according to a news release. The award recognizes companies for their “energy-efficient products and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.”
YKK AP recently launched enerGfacade, its family of energy-efficient products, which includes Luminance, a light-shelf system, ThermaShade sunshades and YOW350T, an architectural grade window system. YKK AP’s manufacturing plant in Dublin also recycles all of its aluminum waste onsite while capturing 93 percent of solvent emissions from its paint line, the release said.
