Macon-based American Pride Bank, which opened two years ago, has a new leader. Macon native John Hall has been named president and CEO of the bank and its holding company American Bancorp Inc., according to a news release.

“The board of directors felt strongly that bringing on an individual with community ties and market experience would continue American Pride Bank’s success and growth,” the release stated.

“Mr. Hall’s ties to Macon are invaluable to us,” Chairman Danny Patel said in the release. “He is going to quickly become a member of our bank family.”

Hall most recently was president and CEO of First Choice Community Bank. He will join American Pride on Nov. 9, the release stated. He has more than 23 years of banking experience.

Richard Cathey had been president and CEO since the bank opened.

“We are sad to see Mr. Cathey go, and that is no reflection on his management skills,” Patel stated.

American Pride is a full-service bank with offices in Macon and Warner Robins.
